I'm Really Tall for a Oompa-Loompa

Text conversation with my mom about my 12 year old nephew
  • Mom: Jamison is taller than me
  • Me: Hahahahaha
  • Mom: Don't laugh if hes taller than me then he is really taller than you. :-)
  • Me: He has been 4 awhile but everyone is so it doesnt bother me
Yes that’s right I am shorter than my mom.

At a whopping 5’1" I am the shortest person in my family. Okay so the 3 year old niece is still way shorter than me and the two 8 year old nieces are shorter but not by much. I know you are shocked because 5'1" is so very tall. How did I end up this short you may ask?

I blame my mother!!!!!

I am not going to go in to details but she knows what she did!*

* I love you mom!!!!

  1. I don't think you are the shortest now. But I am also counting extended family.

  3. I went to the doctor yesterday and was briefly excited when she said I was 64 inches. Then I looked at my shoes. *sigh*

  8. I sort of have the opposite problem. I grew up being taller than everyone else. Taller than other boys my age, taller than all of my friends (in fact my bestfriend in HS was only 4'10"). I couldn't ever borrow shoes or clothes the way my other friends did. I always wished I was short.

    Sometime in my adulthood I finally embraced my height, which is 5'8" well... okay I shrunk just a little after having my girls and I am now 5'7 and 3/4 inches. Yes, now I like my height. :)

  9. I think I'm still taller than one of my nephews, but I'm sure he's gaining on me. It's just kinda startling when the "little ones" - seemingly overnight - are suddenly taller than you, isn't it? I mean, we're the adults, right?

    I always remind myself that all those dudes in the NBA probably outgrew their family at an early age, too!
