Great School Memory???

Do you have a great school memory?

I bet you do!!! I bet you have an awesome, amazing, spectacular memory. A memory that made you into the person you are today. It may be sad or happy but I bet you have one.

I don't have any stand out memories of school.

Dont judge me because of my hair.
Don't get me wrong I have blocked it all out just nothing stands out.  I got along with most people and had relatively little drama (it was high school so I'm sure we were dramatic but nothing outstanding). I don't recall kissing a boy in school but I am sure I must have...I was a normal girl and dated but again nothing stands out in my mind (sorry guys).

So lets go further back than high school (I am skipping the college years...my mom has to get dementia before I will relive those memories in writing). Jr.High that was a fun time. Not really...I was fairly awkward in Jr.High and beyond letting my mom dye my hair in the 8th grade they were fairly uneventful.

That leaves grade school...that was a really long time ago, can I even remember that far back?

Not really?

Now I am all sad that I don't have that stand out memory...of course since graduating high school I have suffered not one not two but five Traumatic Brain Injuries. You read that right FIVE Traumatic Brian Injuries. And all of them were in a 4 - 5 year time frame. That's one a year. Its amazing that I can remember my name let alone what happened 20+ years ago.

So if you went to school with me please please please share any memories you have of me.

OOOPPPSSSS.....My Bad!!!!

I had one extra thing I need to do this morning. Just one little thing. But it was an important thing and I forgot to do it.

What did I forget you ask....?

This morning The Ex-Wife/Friend had to be to work at 8:00AM which means she has to leave town before 7:30AM. And the "pseudo" step-daughter doesn’t have to be to school until 8:00 so she asked if she can drop her by the house and I can take her to school on my way to work. Being the awesome friend I am I agreed to help out after all the school is on my way to work and I only had to leave the house 10 minutes early.

This morning when my alarm went off instead of getting up I decided to go back to sleep. I clearly remember thinking I don’t have to be to work early today I think I will go in around 9:30 which means I get to sleep until 8:00.

At 7:09 I get a call from The Ex-Wife/Friend I groggily answer and she asked "Are you home?"

I mumble something and she says, "Your cars not out front as usual."

"Are you here," I asking sitting up in bed starting to panic because it all came rushing back. I am taking the little one to school.

The Ex-Wife/Friend says "Yup, we are I will sent Sheyanne in."

I rush downstairs and open the door for the "pseudo" step-daughter, wave bye to The Ex-Wife/Friend. Then I have a moment of OH MY GOD.....We will never be on time. Then I take a deep breath. Made sure she has eaten breakfast and send her to the family room to watch PBS (don’t judge me at least it was educational TV) while I run around getting ready for work.

I get ready minus the makeup with 5 minutes to spare. I run to the bathroom to add more hair spray (you can never have to much) and decide I need to spray "pseudo" step-daughter's hair also the out the door we go.

Drop her off at school just in time, damn I am good.

Despite getting my niece ready for school often I'm not very good at this "pseudo" step-parent thing.

Can I get back to bed now?

School Lunch

Recently my niece had a Bring a Guest to Lunch Day. My sister was unable to attend the lunch and my niece really wanted someone to go with her so she invited me to attend. I would like to point out that I have not eaten school lunch since I was a freshman in High School and my memories of school lunch are not good. I was a very picky eater then and I thought it was all YUCKY. But because it was important to my niece I went to have lunch with her and I paid $3.00 to have this dubious honor of eating a Hamburger or a Haystack. And to be honest I'm not sure what a Haystack is even after I saw it so I choose the Hamburger. My niece has a very cute friend that she is ALWAYS with as much as possible. And her mother "forgot" to sign up for the Bring a Guest to Lunch Day. I think this may have been intentional but I can't say for sure.  So instead of having lunch with one 8 yr old girl I got to have lunch with two 8 year old girls. I am truly blessed or cursed depending on the moment. These two can & do talk a mile a minute & everything is either over exaggerated or followed by giggles. Where do girls learn this behavior? I know she didn't learn it at home although I do remember her mother, my fitness fanatic sister, acting the same way. The lunch ended with my niece and her friend dragging me around the school showing me their art, desks and all their favorite spots in the school.

What does this mean to you....nothing. Unless you think you are a candidate for THE AUNT OF THE YEAR AWARD. In that case nah nah nah I'm so winning it and there's nothing you can do to win cause I ate school lunch.

If you like it share it
