Do you ever wonder what your driving record says about you???
I use to sweat about my driving record a lot when I was younger especially ever time I got pulled over and was facing ANOTHER ticket. As a younger drive I figured speed limits were more of a guide line and less of a rule of thumb so I was getting pulled over often. And every time I would be sweating bullets and wondering how many points do I have on my license and is this the ticket that will be putting me over and getting my license suspended. Luckily that never happened I was always just under the points (good thing they go away after so many years).
But I haven't gotten a ticket in over 10 years!!!! Yup 10 years. That's so awesome!! To be honest its not because I haven't been pulled over it is because I haven't been issued a ticket but I also don't speed around like drag racer anymore so I am breaking less rules.
But I think that all changed on Wednesday when I accidentally ran a red light. And it was truly an accident.
I was driving around in a city I am not very familiar with when I got lost. I am not sure how I ended up lost I was on my way home and I was looking for a coffee shop. The guy at the hotel told me where to find one and in my zest for caffeine I got lost. I was driving and looking around trying to discover my location when I ran a red light.
I swear it was green just seconds before but I noticed as I was driving under it was now red. I have no idea how long it was red and now I am sitting here wondering if my perfect driving record is ruined and I will be getting a ticket in the mail with a picture of me cruising through a red light.
Nothing to do now but wait and see. I hate waiting!!!!
The strange thoughts and adventures of a loud mouth small town girl full of contradictions.

Yes, I am that Lazy
This morning while I was laying bed listening to the psedostep-kids playing and drinking my 1st cup of coffee*, I start to smell the delicious breakfast The BF was cooking. I roll over to send a text message to The BF telling him how yummy breakfast smells.
It dawns on me that I am incredibly lazy. I could have very easily got out of bed and talked to The BF but I choose to text message someone who is down the hall. I love technology.
*I need to add a quick side note of appreciation..most weekends The BF brings me coffee in bed. Sometimes I bring it to him but most the time he spoils me and I can not express how grateful I am at this little act of kindness.

I Would Like a Skinny Double Extra Froth....Please
Moving back to your small hometown, after being gone for 15 years, means that you have to learn to live without certain things. Some of these things you learn to compensate and work around. Like bookstores. There are no bookstores in my hometown. If you want a book you have to go to Wal-Mart or the local grocery store. And this does not suit a girl who reads as much as I do. Plus you miss out on books that are not Bestsellers but worth reading. But I have learned to embrace the wonders of Borders, Barnes & Nobles, and Amazon. I do miss the independent novelty bookstores. I miss going to a bookstore and curling up in a corner and reading a book. But as I said you learn to live without things. Now I order books in my pjs and curl up with a glass of wine and read them. Not the same as being in the bookstore but equally satisfying
The one thing I can not compensate for is the lack of a coffee shop. It’s the bane of my existence, well that and I am a girl named Michael. I love good coffee and it doesn't need to be all frothy and complicated I just enjoy a quality bean that was roasted. ground and brewed correctly. But I live in a town that doesn't understand the benefits of good coffee. I'm not sure if its due to the LDS church disapproving of coffee and I live in a town that is strongly LDS (I am not saying this is wrong just explaining about the lack of coffee shops) or if its lack of exposure to quality coffee. All I know is I grew up drinking cheap coffee and it wasn't until I went to college that I discovered the joys of independent coffee shops and chain coffee stores.
And to be honest I prefer the independent coffee shops! I love the beatnik/hippie feel to the places. I love the walls covered in art by local artist and the poetry readings from locals. I love the baristas knowing my name and my drink of choice. I like the regulars (old men, college students and neighbors) who are always in the shop at the same time. I love sitting down and listening to them discuss local politics and gossip. The collection cups for community members in crisis due to illness.
This does not mean I don’t love those chains like Starbucks and Seattle's Best. When in a new town and jonesying for a caffeine fix but you don’t know the neighborhood or what is good, its nice to know that somewhere near by you can go to Starbucks and get coffee from a 3rd world country to help stimulate that country’s economy. It’s very comforting to know that you can get a Carmel Macchiato pretty much any where in the USA except my home town. In fact I have an app on my overpriced smart phone that will not only tell me where the nearest Starbucks is but also give me directions to the nearest Starbucks....turn left now.

Sex & Coffee
I am dating an awesome guy but we don't have a lot in common. In fact I'm inclined to thing we have only 2 things in common...SEX AND COFFEE. Don't get me wrong its amazing sex and mind blowing coffee but can you have a relationship based on those 2 things?
I really think that is all we have in common after all her reads 4wheeler magazine and I read Instyle. He reads Field and Stream and I read Vogue. I cant be away from my cell phone for 2 seconds he always leaves his cell phone behind.
Can this relationship possible work out? Well we both like horror movies, our steaks med-rare, blue moon beer, Stephen King books, Deadlist Catch, Lazy Sundays...Okay maybe we have more in common than mind blowing sex and amazing coffee.
